How do you become a member?
The Greater Salem Area Foundation and the Chamber of Commerce have carried through with a promise made several years ago when they introduced the Evening of Honors program. At that time the Foundation promised the names of all winners would be enshrined on a special plaque, which would be placed in an area of high profile.
The first part of that goal was taken care of a few months back when the County Board granted the organizations permission to use an entrance wall of the Court House to feature such recipients. The final phase was completed when Foundation members pictured here hung the plaque recently.
The plaque is made of birch wood which is framed, stained and polished to receive the golden awards which are handed out every March at the annual dinner.
More than 40 of the areas biggest supporters. civic groups, humanitarians, dreamers volunteers entreprenuers and visonaries have so far been inducted into this elete group of winners. The plaque is located at the east entrace in front of the security area.
The names of the winners from 2008-2012 are currently on display,. The current plaque has room for up to 20 years worth of winners.

Memberships are available to anyone who chooses to join. There are three options available beyond funding an ongoing project. These include Family membership ($100), Benevolent Membership ($250) and Corporate Membership ($500) Weekly meetings are held at the downtown offices of the Salem Time-Commoner each Tuesday morning at 10 A.M.
Open meetings are held quarterly and attendance to one,or all,are at the members' discretion.
